Color grading can be a bit overwhelming with so many hues on the spectrum to choose from. But when Local Life magazine assigned me as the photographer in Beaufort SC for Island Lavender, the choice seemed obvious! Lovely fields of - you guessed it - Lavender filled my head, especially during late-day golden hour. How easy is that? A complimentary color scheme of purples and yellows worked perfectly. To create this effect on-location, a whole lot of CTO gel with a splash of green gel was used to create the yellow-ish low sun. Conveniently on-hand were dozens of sampler sprays which came in handy to create some atmosphere and depth.
